The annual Southport Jazz Festival returns for 3 days in February 2024, brought to you by the Southport Jazz Events Company.

From Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th February there are 10 amazing shows featuring the UK’s finest jazz, swing and funk artistes. We are delighted to be able to host this festival once again in the stunning surroundings of The Grand on Lord Street. This beautiful venue compliments the festival superbly and we know how impressed our guests were in 2023 with the surroundings and the way they were looked after by all of the staff.

Here’s the line up in full, there’s something for everyone, highlights include:

Friday evening for a night of Big Band Swing featuring the one and only Matt Ford backed by the 17 piece Swingtime Big Band. Matt is the UK’s finest and most in demand swing and big band singer. We brought him to The Grand in November 2022 for a sold out show and due to demand we have him back to do it all again! Expect to hear your favourite swing numbers performed live, how they are meant to be heard, with a big swinging band and the best crooner around.

Saturday we welcome British jazz legend Clare Teal. Expect exhilarating swing from award winning jazz vocalist and long time Radio 2 & Jazz FM broadcaster Clare Teal and her marvellous band who return with a fabulous new show as ever celebrating the hits and hidden gems of the Great American and British Songbooks, plus contemporary covers and originals. The concert will also include favourites from her acclaimed DVD The Fireside Sessions.

Sunday sees us welcome the simply amazing Joe Stilgoe and his band. Joe Stilgoe is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter.

He is a true modern-day entertainer, known globally as a performer of wit, style and a level of musicianship which has seen him recognised as one of the best singer-pianists in the world. Always searching for a new way of bringing not only his own songs but those he loves from the past to a new audience, he is an enticing mix of his heroes Danny Kaye, Nat King Cole and Dudley Moore, and influenced by Harry Connick Jr, Peter Skellern, Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, The Beach Boys, Oscar Peterson, Hoagy Carmichael, Irving Berlin and Joni Mitchell.
